Casting Crowns East To West
Written by Mark Hall and Bernie Herms
Here I am, Lord, and I'm drowning in your sea of forgetfulness
The chains of yesterday surround me
I yearn for peace and rest
I don't want to end up where You found me
And it echoes in my mind, keeps me awake tonight
I know You've cast my sin as far as the east is from the west
And I stand before You now as though I've never sinned
But today I feel like I'm just one mistake away from You leaving me this way
Jesus, can You show me just how far the east is from the west
'Cause I can't bear to see the man I've been come rising up in me again
In the arms of Your mercy I find rest
'Cause You know just how far the east is from the west
From one scarred hand to the other
I start the day, the war begins, endless reminding of my sin
Time and time again Your truth is drowned out by the storm I'm in
Today I feel like I'm just one mistake away from You leaving me this way
I know You've washed me white, turned my darkness into light
I need Your peace to get me through, to get me through this night
I can't live by what I feel, but by the truth Your word reveals
I'm not holding on to You, but You're holding on to me
You're holding on to me
Jesus, You know just how far the east is from the west
I don't have to see the man I've been come rising up in me again
In the arms of Your mercy I find rest
'Cause You know just how far the east is from the west
From one scarred hand to the other
One scarred hand to the other
From one scarred hand to the other
Result: 6 ladies handling guns ranging from 22mm, 38mm, and 45mm (If my memory serves me well, we shot a rifle, a silencer, a gun that Orlando Police Dept, one that's used in Iraq, and a revolver). My oh my, some were extremely good at hitting the targets. It has been said that females usually are better shooters than males.
Enjoying the company of your friends and having good laughs: PRICELESS.
Several hours ago one of Minneapolis' busiest bridges collapsed. I heard that as I was driving home from Biblestudy, and I thought about the other calamities that have fallen in this world...Katrina, Tsunami, 911. I know as authorities are trying to go through the devastation, many are asking tonight: Why? Where is God in all of this? My mind turned back to when I attended the Passion conference 3 years ago when Piper gave a response to the Tsunami that occurred in Asia. On Desiring God's blog, he gives his response. If any of you have friends, acquaintances, co-workers, family members that may ask the "why" question in the coming days, refer to Piper's article. It gives an excellent response and use of Luke 13. May we all be bold to proclaim God's Word to those who do not know him.
Opening Night and 9 of us go see the midnight showing...It was good, funny, and there were some parts that were not appropriate. Then to finish off the night, we went to Kwik E-Mart. The time? It was 2:30 am, yes, we're die hard fans. Larry and my brother were waiting for fresh donuts: pink icing with sprinkles. Top that off with a Squishee of course. So sad that I had a headache from staying up so late, aiya I'm so old.
